A Culture of Caring
A Culture of Refreshment
Although we currently meet in homes in Camarillo and Ventura for dinner on Saturday nights at 5 pm., we started 9 years ago in the little town of Saticoy. "Saticoy" is a Native American Chumash word that means shelter from the wind. Jesus has sent us many weary leaders since we've started. It's been our joy to join Him in refreshing, replenishing, and recommissioning them.
We are intentionally a place where people can come and be refreshed with no expectations. We meet only once a week.
A Culture of Replenishment
You can come once, or many times. We intentionally don't have lots of meetings, programs and demands on your time. One of our core values is to be a place of refreshing and replenishment.
A Culture of Reproduction
In the 11 years we've been together, we have seen two churches planted by our community. In addition, our community has spawned multiple organizations creatively serving underserved populations locally and in the nations. We often joke that we are like a tiny little woman who has 14 children. At Saticoy, we don't measure how many come to a gathering, but how many are impacted in other spheres by those who attend.
A Culture of Participation
Believing each person has valuable wisdom to give, we come together to lay down the puzzle pieces of our lives in order to see the beautiful face of Jesus in our present moment. We are careful to include and listen to every voice. While several of us love to preach, and have decades of experience in preaching, we've found that discussion where everyone participates becomes more memorable. Your story and perspective are important to us.
